ABOUT US
Our Story
Industrial wax expertise since 1982
Cerax was established in 1982 as SARPRI, initially focusing on the trading, blending and solidification of waxes and wax-derived products. That foundation continues to inform our industrial wax expertise and the support we provide to customers.
The business has expanded its capabilities to include functionalised waxes, speciality blends and formulations for multiple industries and international markets. Our team brings together chemical engineering, formulation, scientific and commercial knowledge.
Industrial wax expertise means connecting the material to its application. A requirement for a coating, an adhesive or a blended product needs a practical discussion about the intended performance, processing conditions and available grade information.
Four principles that guide our work
Our objectives remain to grow as a speciality wax manufacturer, develop new applications, embrace innovation and respond to changing environmental needs.
- Manufacturing focus: work towards becoming the largest speciality wax and wax-based products manufacturer in Africa.
- Application development: pioneer new uses and functions for wax in a sustainable and progressive manner.
- Innovation: develop processing, engineering, formulation and manufacturing approaches for speciality performance chemicals.
- Material choices: keep pace with global environmental trends by exploring new sources of wax and wax alternatives.
These are company objectives, not claims that every product has the same environmental profile. Grade selection should take account of the source, intended use and documented requirements of the individual material.
How our industrial wax expertise supports your enquiry
Which part of the Cerax range should I explore?
Start with the wax catalogue to compare the main product families. For an application-led enquiry, explore our specialised wax products. If an existing grade does not cover your brief, discuss custom blends with our team.
What information helps the technical team?
Describe what the product needs to achieve, the material currently used and the constraints of your process. Include relevant grade specifications or sample requirements where available. This gives the team a clearer starting point than a product name alone.
Can I discuss a formulation rather than a single wax?
Yes. Cerax works with blends and formulations as well as wax-derived products. Share the function you need the wax to provide and any compatibility requirements. The team can discuss the available range and whether a custom formulation enquiry is appropriate.
How should a proposed grade be evaluated?
Use the relevant technical and safety information and assess a candidate in your own application. Industrial wax expertise supports the selection discussion, but a product description cannot replace a controlled evaluation against your requirements. Agree the evaluation criteria before comparing samples.
Can I discuss supply volumes and product form?
Include the likely volume, preferred product form and destination in your enquiry. Cerax values flexibility and works to understand customers’ requirements. Availability, packaging and commercial details should be confirmed with the team for the particular product and order.
Our approach combines quality manufacturing, health, safety and environmental principles with quality control. This helps us work with customers on practical products and solutions without treating every application as identical.
